The Competition

You and a team of up to four competitors will work to perfect a policy proposal on one of our two featured topics.

International Relations:
The prompt may pertain to:

  • Tension in the South China Sea
  • The European Migration Dilemma
  • Rohingya Persecution in Myanmar

Public Health:
The prompt may pertain to:

  • The Opioid Epidemic
  • Gun Control
  • Policing in Baltimore City

The Experience

Create: Spend up to 24 hours crafting an policy memo that is both feasible and evidence-based.

Present: Pitch your idea to a panel of judges that includes renowned academics and seasoned policymakers. Judges will provide individualized feedback to hone your policywriting and presentation abilities.

Learn: Attend talks about the art of policywriting and other topics of interest. Additionally, learn from your peers as you network with a community of future policymakers!

Win: The winning team will be awarded a cash prize of $500!
